  • Make clean and refreshed skin

  • Fantastic for oily skin

  • Prevents breakouts

  • Tightens pores

  • Makes skin firmer

  • Cleans deeply

Ingredients:

  • Bar Rectangle Silicone Mold

  • 5.1 oz. Sodium Hydroxide Lye

  • 10.1 oz. Distilled Water (15% water discount)

  • 1.7 oz. Tea Tree Essential Oil

  • 1.8 oz. Castor Oil (5%)

  • 9 oz. Coconut Oil (25%)

  • 14.4 oz. Olive Oil (40%)

  • 9 oz. Palm Oil (25%)

  • 1.8 oz. Tamanu Oil (5%)

  • 2 Tbsp. Activated Charcoal

  • 2 tsp. Sodium Lactate (optional)

Instructions

  1. For making charcoal soap, you need to pay attention to safety first. To do that, use goggles, gloves, and long sleeves.

  2. Pour tea tree essential oil into a glass container and set it aside

  3. Add the lye to the water slowly and stir gently until it is dissolved and clear. Set it aside to cool.

  4. Begin by melting castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil, palm oil, and tamarind oil. It is crucial that you melt and blend the palm oil before portioning. Once the oils and lye water has cooled down to 130 degrees or below, and are within 10 degrees of each other, add the lye water to the oils. Stir until a thin trace is achieved. Incorporate sodium lactate into the lye water for a faster release, and stronger bar of soap.

  5. You can use a teaspoon of sodium lactate per pound of oil, which means that for this recipe, two teaspoons of sodium lactate should be added. Finally, the soap can be smoothed through the stick until it reaches a thin trace.

  6. Incorporate 2 tablespoons of activated charcoal into the soap batter, being careful not to let it fly into the air. Start by tapping the charcoal into the mixture with your stick blender, then pulse it slowly until it's fully mixed in. This gentle approach prevents the charcoal from scattering and ensures a uniform consistency.

  7. Now, you need to add tea tree essential oil to your soap. Use a stick blender to completely blend and stir the essential oils.

  8. To combine the ingredients completely, continue blending for a few seconds.

  9. Fill the individual cavities of the 12 Bar Rectangle Mold with soap batter as soon as it is a medium trace. Tap the mold on the counter to smooth it out.

  10. To prevent soda ash, spray the soap's surface with isopropyl alcohol.

  11. After insulating the soap for approximately 30 minutes, place it on a medium-heated heating pad.

  12. Then, turn the heating pad off and leave the soap in the heat for 24 hours. As the soap contains plenty of soft oils, it should stay in the mold for 3 or 4 days or one week. Don’t rush it to get the most efficient result.

  13. After you have noticed that the soap is firm enough, unmold it and leave it to cure for 4-6 weeks. Enjoy it!
